Police nabs 3 most wanted suspects in NCR, Cotabato

MANILA, Philippines — Police have arrested three suspects, most wanted for different crimes, in separate police operations in Metro Manila and Cotabato.
In a statement on Tuesday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said it arrested a 63-year-old male wanted for serious illegal detention at 12:40 p.m. on April 29 along J.P. Rizal Avenue in Barangay Tejeros, Makati City.
“He had long been wanted for serious illegal detention under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code, by virtue of a warrant issued on January 16, 1990, from the Regional Trial Court Branch 5, Baguio City,” the NCRPO said.
The suspect was listed as the most wanted person of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) regional field unit in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The NCRPO did not provide details on the time and circumstances of the alleged serious illegal detention incident.
Alleged hitman nabbed in Cotabato City after 12-year manhunt
In a separate statement, the CIDG said it arrested a suspect identified as “Abo,” an alleged hitman with two warrants for his arrest issued by a Cotabato City court in 2012 and 2019.
Abo was arrested in Barangay Bagua Mother, Cotabato City by the CIDG’s regional field unit in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) last Wednesday.
Of the case behind the 2012 warrant, the CIDG said, “Abo and two cohorts were allegedly chasing a male victim towards the market area along Jose Lim Street, Cotabato City. Subsequently, the accused allegedly fired shots at the victim that caused his death.”

Meanwhile, the 2019 warrant stemmed from an October 2015 incident, where Abo and two cohorts repeatedly shot a man to death again in Cotabato City, the CIDG explained.
19-year-old male accused of rape
Meanwhile, in another statement also on Tuesday, the NCRPO said it arrested “Geric,” 19-year-old male accused of three counts of rape.
The NCRPO detailed that police arrested him on Monday evening along A. Mabini Road in Barangay 36, Caloocan City.
The Odiongan, Romblon Regional Trial Court Branch 32 issued the warrant of arrest.

“Alias ‘Geric’ was listed among the most wanted personalities for April 2025 in Region 4B,” the NCRPO explained.
Police did not expound on the time and nature of the alleged incident.
