Nearly 170,000 members of the Social Security System (SSS) will have to suffer delayed benefits and other claims because the state-run fund’s check printer is out of order.

In an advisory to members, the SSS said the delay would affect those whose claims, including death, disability, retirement, sickness and maternity benefits, were filed starting May 22. —Ronnel Domingo
