DAVAO CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he was ready to give the Moro people their own government through the Bangsamoro Basic Law but not their own armed or police force.

He also said the national government would care for the new autonomous setup “like a child that needs a walker.”

“Whether you like it or not, I do not want you to get a regional armed forces and a regional police force,” the President said. —Allan Nawal
