The south-bound train unloaded the riders at the Quezon Avenue station at 5:37 a.m., the Department of Transportation MRT-3 said in an advisory.

The next train arrived some five minutes later.

According to the advisory, the electrical failure was due to “worn-out electrical dub-components” such as regulators, insulators, and choppers.

Preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components are needed as remedy said the advisory.

The MRT-3 line is known for its frequent, almost daily glitches.  The latest failure was reported on March 8.    /muf
