LUCENA CITY – A 47-year-old pedestrian was killed after he was accidentally hit by a speeding van along the highway in Lucena City early morning Monday, police said.
Report from Lucena police station said the victim, Allan Ambowang, was hit by a Bicol-bound van being driven by Leonardo Saturay, 69, while crossing the diversion road in Barangay (village) Domoit around 2:10 a.m.
Rescuers immediately brought the victim to Quezon Medical Center in the city proper some three kilometers away from the accident site. Ambowang died along the way.
The van driver voluntarily surrendered to the police. /je
