Emilio Aguinaldo ordered guerrilla leaders of northern Luzon to start the attack against American forces.

On Feb. 6, 1964, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, president of the First Philippine Republic, died of a heart attack at the age of 95.

On Feb. 11, his remains were transferred from his residence in Kawit, Cavite, to Malacañang.

On Feb. 14, the body was moved from Malacañang to the Metropolitan Cathedral in Intramuros where Rufino J. Cardinal Santos offered a Requiem Mass.

On Feb. 16, Aguinaldo was buried in the garden of his Kawit home. —Marielle Medina
