QCPD chief backs cops tagged in brutal ‘drug kills’

Guillermo Eleazar

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar stood by his men in the midst of a report tagging as “deadliest” the city police’s Station 6 or Batasan Station.

In an interview over Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Eleazar asserted that they have a protocol in the conduct of police operations.

“Mayroon tayong protocol. Wala po tayong tinotolerate na ano mang irregularities,” Eleazar said.

[We have a protocol. we do not tolerate any kind of irregularities.]

The QCPD chief even pointed out that if his office received a report about irregularities, an entrapment operation is being conducted in order to apprehend the police concerned.

On Tuesday, Reuters published a story titled “Davao boys” which suggested that the policemen in QCPD Station 6 appeared to be responsible for the high number of deaths in the area in the name of the administration’s war against illegal drugs.          /kga
