Classes suspended in Albay due to heavy rains

No classes in Malabon, parts of Tanza, Cavite Aug 27

No classes or a shift to modular learning were implemented in Malabon and a dozen barangays of Tanza in Cavite province on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

LEGAZPI CITY — The Albay provincial government suspended classes for Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the preschool and elementary levels in both private and public schools due to continuous rainfall.

The heavy rain was caused by the combined effects of the tail end of cold front and Tropical Depression “Urduja” as it moved closer to Bicol region.

Gov. Al Francis Bichara, chairman of Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, advised people to avoid artificial pools of water and crossing of swollen rivers.

Sailing of small seacraft and fishing boats were also prohibited after the weather bureau raised a gale warning over the province. –Ma. April Mier /atm
