Oil firms hike fuel prices

Local gasoline companies on Monday announced an upcoming hike in the prices of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene starting Tuesday, June 13.

Oil companies raised the prices for diesel, gasoline and kerosene as the global market ushered in the high-demand winter season in the northern hemisphere.

Oil firms adjusted prices as early as midnight of Monday, with diesel prices rising by 35 centavos a liter while gasoline prices revved up by 65 centavos a liter.

As of posting time, companies that hiked prices included Pilipinas Shell, Phoenix Petroleum, Seaoil, Flying V, PTT Philippines, Eastern Petroleum and Petron.

Shell, Flying V, Seaoil and Petron also raised prices of kerosene by 55 centavos per liter. —Ronnel W. Domingo
