A businessman was shot at least eight times in front of his stall at Commonwealth Market in Quezon City early Tuesday.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victim as Rommel Roque, 27.

Police said at around 1:30 a.m., Roque’s elder sister was inside their slaughterhouse at the market, when she heard at least eight gunshots.

A report to Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, QCPD director, said two masked men approached Roque and shot him repeatedly.

The victim died on the spot. Supt. Rossel Cejas, Batasan police station, said investigators would look into a possible business-related motive.

He said Roque was not on any watchlist. Jhesset O. Eñano
