The House of Representatives will resume plenary debates on the proposed 2018 budget on Tuesday, despite suspension of government work because of tropical depression “Maring.”

In a text message to reporters, House Secretary General Cesar Strait Pareja said the House will try to finish its deliberations on the proposed P3.767 trillion national budget.

This was approved by Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and relayed by majority leader Rudy Fariñas, Pareja said.

“Per ML Fariñas, as approved by the Speaker, we have work today. We will continue with deliberations on the 2018 Budget,” Pareja said.

“We will proceed with the Budget Deliberations and finish them today, unless some Members decide to make us work until tomorrow,” Fariñas said in a separate message.

The House is set to approve the budget on second reading today.
