14 bolt Jolo jail after Duterte visit

The main perpetrator of an assault against a group of women at a barbecue restaurant in China was sentenced to 24 years in prison

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Six hours after President Duterte visited Jolo in Sulu on Saturday, at least 14 prisoners bolted the town jail.

Supt. Mario Buyucan, provincial police director, confirmed the 1:25 a.m. jailbreak at the Jolo police station.

Three of the 14 escapees have been killed in pursuit operations.

Police are still going after 11 suspects, including one who was reportedly wounded. CBB/rga
