Duterte reappoints 4 Cabinet secretaries

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attended a situation briefing at the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade (MIB) headquarters in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte on May 26, 2017. Joining the President in the briefing are Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eduardo Año, Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald dela Rosa and 1st Infantry Division Commander Brigadier General Rolando Bautista among others. Following the briefing, the President then talked to the troopers of the 2nd MIB where he said that it is time for the government's victory since they have what is needed to defeat the terrorists who attacked Marawi City. He also said that the government will use all its assets to ensure victory against the terrorists. President Rodrigo Duterte has renewed the ad interim appointment of four Cabinet secretaries who have yet to be confirmed by the Commission on Appointments.

Duterte has reappointed Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano, Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial, and Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu.

The appointments of Taguiwalo, Mariano, and Ubial have been bypassed by the CA while Cimatu has yet to face the powerful commission.

Their reappointment papers were signed on June 1 but released only by Malacañang on July 4. JE
