CITY OF ILAGAN – A drug suspect was killed in a gunfight with police officers during a Saturday drug bust at 11:30 p.m.

Jaypee Dela Cruz reportedly fired at an undercover agent to whom he allegedly sold shabu (methampetamine hydrochloride) before midnight in Barangay (village) Bagumbayan, said Supt. Ariel Quilang, Ilagan City police chief. Policemen returned fire, killing the suspect.

Seized from Dela Cruz were two sachets of suspected shabu, a thousand peso bill, and a Cal. 38 handgun armed with four bullets. His remains were brought to a funeral parlor for autopsy. JE/rga
