Based on the latest data from the Department of Health, Metro Manila posted the highest number of new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases in February among all regions. The figures showed that 37 percent or 310 of the reported 849 new HIV cases registered nationwide are from the National Capital Region. This was followed by Region 4A with 15 percent or 129 cases reported in the same month. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
