BAGUIO CITY — Two pocket miners were rescued on Tuesday (May 9) when their tunnel entrance collapsed at Mankayan town in Benguet province, the Cordillera police said.

Wilson Sanwen Jr., 16, and Harvey Tauli, 19, both from Mountain Province, were pulled out unharmed by the police and fellow miners working at the mine tunnel of Dario Antonio of Taneg village.

The two youths entered the tunnel while the rest of the crew went out for a coffee break.

They returned only to discover the mine entrance had been blocked by debris. The rescuers managed to dig out the two miners at 2:20 p.m.  SFM
