Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has imposed strict security measures at the Department of Justice (DOJ) to reduce unnecessary monthly expenses.

In his memorandum order, the use of personal appliances such as refrigerators, microwave ovens, oven toasters, television sets, rice cookers, coffee makers and the like in the DOJ offices will be prohibited.

The justice chief issued the order to reduce the P1.2-million monthly electricity expenses of the department.

He ordered the department’s supplies division to make rounds of the DOJ offices and require the employees to remove the unnecessary appliances, take them home or they will be confiscated. CDG/rga
