The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Monday reminded employers to implement the proper wage rates this upcoming holiday season.

Employees who will work on Christmas, December 25th; Rizal Day, December 30th; and New Year ’s Day, January 1st or regular holidays will receive double pay, according to the labor advisory signed by DOLE’s Acting Secretary, Joel Maglungsod.

The advisory added that employees who will work overtime on the said dates will receive additional 30% of their hourly rate, and if the date falls on the employee’s rest day, he or she will receive an additional 30% on top of the 200% of his or her daily rate.

Furthermore, the “No work, no pay” policy will be issued on December 24 and 31, dates declared as non-working days. Employees who will go to work on these dates will receive an additional 30% on their daily rate and another 30% on their hourly rate if they will work overtime. JE/rga
