Palace to public: Refrain from ‘reckless speculation’ on Davao blast

Malacañang called on the public to refrain from “reckless speculation” on the cause of the Davao City blast that has killed 10 people and injured around 60.

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the cause of the explosion has yet to be verified.

At the same time, he called on people to be cautious and avoid crowded places.

“While no one has yet claimed responsibility it is best that the populace refrain from reckless speculation and avoid crowded places,” Abella said.

“There is no cause for alarm, but it is wise to be cautious,” he added.

Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte said initial information received was the blast was caused by an LPG tank. This is still being verified. TVJ
