BI chief joins peeing into cups

BI plans to strengthen offices, monitoring capabilities especially in Mindanao

OVER 100 employees of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) underwent a surprise drug test on Thursday.

A total of 117 BI employees, along with new Commissioner Jaime Morente, submitted their urine samples to police officers conducting the testing.

Heads of offices such as the fugitive search unit, intelligence personnel and other employees were tested. All tested negative.

Morente  also ordered the BI intelligence division to build up cases against personnel engaged in illegal activities. Julie M. Aurelio, with a report from Toni Bellen
