3 hijackers killed in shootout with Cavite police

MANILA, Philippines — Three men who hijacked a 10-wheeler truck were killed in an encounter with authorities before dawn Friday, a police spokesman said.

A responding police unit from Cavite chased after suspects who stopped a truck (RJY-343) carrying Nestle products at Barangay (village) Manggahan in the town of General Trias, Cavite at around 2 a.m., said Philippine National Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr.

The suspects shot it out with the police after they were cornered and were eventually killed, said Cruz.
