Binay gets formal invitation from the Senate blue ribbon committee

MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Jejomar Binay has been invited anew to face the allegations lodged against him–this time from the main Senate blue ribbon committee being headed by Senator Teofisto Guingona III.

Guingona formally asked Binay after the blue ribbon subcommittee resumed its hearing on the parking building controversy at around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Guingona said the mother committee accepted the Binay camp’s challenge that he would only face the Senate if the invitation would come directly from the mother committee.

In accepting the challenge, Guingona said the committee would give the Vice President fair treatment and due respect accorded to his office.

“Ang kailangan namin sa kanya ay katotohanan at pawang katotohanan lamang. Inaasahang ibibigay nya ito,” Guingona added.

(What we need is the truth, the whole truth. We are hoping that he will give this to us.) RELATED STORIES
