JAKARTA – Joko Widodo was inaugurated as Indonesia’s president Monday, capping a remarkable rise from an upbringing in a riverside slum.
Widodo, known by his nickname Jokowi, took the oath at a ceremony in parliament before lawmakers and visiting foreign dignitaries.
