MANILA, Philippines — Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago is considering several personalities as possible running mate, including Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, should she decide to run for president in 2016.
“I should be president,” Santiago said during a press conference at the Senate on Wednesday.
Asked who she wanted to be her running mate, the senator said: “I would love to run with Duterte.”
The senator also mentioned the names of former presidential wannabe Gilbert Teodoro and Senator Grace Poe as a possible running mate.
“Maybe it’s Miriam and Grace,” Santiago said. She, however, noted the combination of their names sounded like a restaurant and “charming.”
