Protesters gather along Commonwealth Ave. ahead of Aquino Sona

MANILA, Philippines – Hundreds of protesters started to arrive at Ever Gotesco in Commonwealth Avenue on Monday morning, hours before President Benigno Aquino III delivers his State of the Nation Address at Batasang Pambansa Monday.
Police estimated a crowd of about 500 from Bayan Southern Tagalog, the first batch of protesters to arrive at the Ever Gotesco Mall which is the closest they could get to Batasan Pambansa where Aquino will deliver his address before lawmakers, his Cabinet, and members of the Diplomatic Corps, among others.
About a thousand protesters along the Elliptical Road are expected to follow, police said.
