MANILA, Philippines—Detained businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles personally appeared before the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 150 to insist that she be allowed to undergo surgery and hospital confinement.
Napoles was suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding. Her doctors said if left untreated could lead to cancer.
