MANILA, Philippines—The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Thursday said a “tax moratorium” is not needed for survivors of typhoon Yolanda.
“File the best way you can and then we will evaluate it and give you as much consideration as possible,” BIR Chief Kim Henares told reporters Thursday.
“You lost everything so you have no income. What is the need for a moratorium when you lost everything,” Henares said.
Henares already said that a moratorium is not allowed under the Tax Code.
