Cessna plane crashes in Pampanga; pilot, passenger unscathed

MANILA, Philippines – The pilot and a passenger of a light aircraft that crash-landed on a Pampanga lahar trail on Wednesday morning were alive and safe, a Radyo Inquirer 990AM said.

The report quoted Rodante Joya, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) deputy director general for operations, saying that a Cessna 152 plane (RP-C8832) bound for Baguio City crashed at the Sta. Fe lahar trail in Pampanga at 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday.

Because of its lightweight material, the plane remained intact even after the emergency landing which saved the lives of the two passengers, including the pilot.
