THE EMILIO Aguinaldo College Generals continued their strong push for the Final Four as they beat the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, 78-68, in the 89th NCAA men’s basketball tournament yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.
The victory was EAC’s ninth win against eight losses, placing the Generals half-a-game behind current fourth placer, San Sebastian, which was battling Perpetual Help as of this writing.
The game was one of runs as the Generals zoomed off to a 23-5 lead. But JRU came roaring back and took a 47-46 lead after a 15-4 rally.
The Generals retaliated with a 16-4 fightback that put them in front, 62-51, heading to the final period. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
