MANILA, Philippines—Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno suspended work in all courts in Metro Manila due to tropical storm Maring (international name: Trami), which has brought heavy rains.

The work suspension covers the Supreme Court and the lower courts, as well as the Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan and the Court of Tax Appeals.

Work suspension in courts in the provinces will be up to the discretion of the executive judges, Sereno said.
