Councilor says revamp may affect city projects

/ 07:29 AM August 06, 2011

CEBU City Councilor Nida Cabrera yesterday raised concern that the revamp of commissioners may affect vital projects, such as preparations for the closure of the Inayawan Sanitary Landfill scheduled on Oct. 1.

She said previous board members already laid down plans on where to divert wastes away from the landfill.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, however, assured that all projects under the 62 special bodies under the office of the mayor would continue. This week he announced the new composition of several commissions, boards and councils.

Rama said the designation of new members was needed in the new administration. Rama now heads 16 out of the 22 commissions and named several proxies. Reporter Marian Z. Codilla
