Iran female acid victim ‘pardons’ attacker not to be blinded

TEHRAN – An Iranian man who was convicted of throwing acid in the face of a fellow female student and was to be blinded on Sunday was pardoned by his victim, the state run television website reported.

“With the request of Ameneh Bahrami, the acid attack victim, Majid (Movahedi) who was sentenced for qesas (eye-for-an-eye-style retributive justice) was pardoned at the last minute and (she) decided to forgo her right,” the report said.
