2 suspected robbers shot dead in San Juan

San Juan City brings back 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew amid rising COVID-19 cases

MANILA, Philippines – Two suspects were killed in a shootout with police after they broke into a house in San Juan City before dawn Friday, police said.

Police Officer 3 Genedine Katriz said the two still unidentified suspects engaged in a firefight with responding police officers after the house helper of No. 4 Don Ejercito Street in San Juan City managed to call authorities upon seeing the suspects inside their home at around 3:20 a.m.

“Tinutukan sya (house helper) ng baril pero nakatakbo sya kaya nakatawag agad sa station,” Katriz said.

But he said one of the suspects, who allegedly served as a lookout, managed to escape onboard a motorcycle.

Further investigation is now being conducted for possible identification of the slain suspects, and possible arrest of the other suspect, Katriz said.
