Marcos lauds 4 Filipinas’ accomplishments

President Marcos on Sunday posthumously conferred the Presidential Medal of Merit on four popular Filipinas in a solemn ceremony at Malacañang.

As scheduled, the President lauded actress Gloria Romero, culinary icon Margarita Forés, singer Pilita Corrales and National Artist for Film Nora Aunor, who “illuminated our consciousness” and brought global recognition to the Filipino spirit through film, food and music. —Melvin Gascon
