4 suspects nabbed, 5 guns, shabu seized in Laguna, Batangas

LUCENA CITY — Four suspected drug pushers were arrested, and five illegal firearms along with quantities of shabu (crystal meth) were seized in separate police operations in Laguna and Batangas provinces on Monday and Tuesday.

The Police Region Office 4A said anti-illegal drug operatives in Batangas City arrested “Erwin” after he sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer in Barangay Bolbok at 1:17 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said Erwin, a known street-level drug pusher, was caught in possession of 12 sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth about P82,620 in the street market. An undocumented .22 caliber revolver with six bullets was also seized from him.

In Nasugbu town, Batangas, authorities served a search warrant at 12:32 a.m. Tuesday at the residence of “Reynaldo” in Barangay Balaytigue. Recovered from the house were two illegal firearms — a .22 caliber rifle with 17 bullets and a .45 pistol with two magazines loaded with 10 bullets. Police also seized P2,270 worth of shabu and various drug-sniffing paraphernalia.

In Biñan City, Laguna, police raided the residence of “Rolan” in Barangay Timbao at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday. The operation led to the confiscation of an undocumented .45 caliber pistol loaded with six bullets and suspected shabu valued at P10,200.

In Los Baños, Laguna, police arrested “Jeffry” at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mayondon. Jeffry had six sachets of suspected shabu worth P2,040. During a routine frisk, officers also found an illegal .38 caliber revolver with two bullets in his possession.

All suspects are in police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms. Erwin and Jeffry will also be charged of violating the election gun ban.
