Quezon City buy-bust yields P217,600 drugs seized, 2 arrests

MANILA, Philippines — A buy-bust operation in Quezon City resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu worth P217,600 and the arrest of two suspects, police said on Wednesday.

According to the Quezon City Police District’s (QCPD) report, the drug sting took place at the corner of West Riverside and Florencia Streets in Barangay Del Monte on Wednesday early morning.

Authorities confiscated 32 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth) during the bust.

Police identified the suspects as Arturo Viniegas, 42; and Marites Dacillo, 48.

The police added that Viniegas had previous drug-related cases in July 2017, April 2018, and November 2023.

The QCPD said the two suspects would be charged before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for violating the Dangerous Drugs Act.
