MANILA, Philippines – The police colonel accused of acts of lasciviousness posted bail for his temporary liberty.

He was arrested early this week in Camp Crame by operatives of the Anonas police station following an arrest warrant issued by the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 135.

He posted P36,000 bail for his temporary liberty.

The police official’s arrest came after the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office filed a criminal case against him based on a complaint filed by his alleged victim, a non-uniformed personnel (NUP) of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

INQUIRER.net opted to withhold the name of the police official due to the sensitive nature of the case and because it is currently undergoing trial.

In a nine-page resolution dated Feb. 11, the city prosecutor said there is sufficient evidence to indict the official for acts of lasciviousness

Based on the complaint in June 2023,  the official touched her hands, thighs, and private parts while she was inside his vehicle.

“Said acts exhibit the sexual desire of respondent and he committed the same when they were alone in his personal vehicle. Glaringly, said acts were done against the will and without the consent of complainant,” the resolution read.

The official, the victim and other PNP personnel had just attended a meeting with officials of another government agency in Manila before the incident happened.

The alleged victim said that because the suspect is holding a superior rank, she could not refuse when he invited her to ride with him in his vehicle after a meeting in Manila.

While in the vehicle, the victim said the official touched her private parts and even suggested they go to a motel, which she refused.

The official allegedly kept making sexual advances throughout their travel. Before arriving at Camp Crame, the victim said the official touched her thigh and even offered P10,000 as an allowance in exchange for having a relationship with him.

The police official is facing a separate complaint before the Ombudsman which was filed by another victim.
