MANILA, Philippines — Rainy weather is expected over the southern part of Mindanao, while fair weather will prevail over the remaining parts of the country due to the easterlies.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), fair and hot weather will be experienced in most parts of the country, with chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
(Easterlies persist over most parts of the country, although we can see in our latest satellite animation that we have spotted a cluster of clouds over the southern portion of Mindanao.)
“So dahil sa epekto ng easterlies, maaring maranasan pa rin yung mga pag ulan sa katimugang bahagi ng Mindanao area,” Torres noted in a morning forecast.
(So due to the effect of easterlies, we may still experience rains in the southern part of Mindanao.)

(Meanwhile, the clear and warm weather continues to prevail in the rest of our country. Chances of rain will likely be short-term thunderstorms more often experienced in the afternoon or evening.)
The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will slowly be felt in Northern Luzon in the coming days.
No low-pressure area or tropical cyclone was monitored inside and outside the country’s area of responsibility.
