MANILA, Philippines — A fisherman was rescued by authorities on Sunday after his motorized banca capsized in the waters off Subic in Zambales, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

In a report on Monday, the PCG identified the 54-year-old fisherman as Lindo Sumalilo, who was among the two others who went missing after MV Sao Heaven capsized off Subic due to a broken outrigger.

The two other missing Filipino fishermen were 54-year-old Mr. Rimoot and 40-year-old Mr. Tabios.

The agency said its BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406) received a call from MV Sao Heaven around 10:29 a.m., which prompted authorities to conduct the search and rescue operations.

Citing Sumalilo, the PCG reported that the boat left Subic for Cabra Island for a fishing venture when the accident occurred.

In locating the two others, the agency said it will continue its search and rescue efforts and will coordinate with transiting vessels.
