30 houses lost in Las Piñas fire

Las Piñas City police apprehended two individuals for illegal drugs and firearm possession early Friday morning.

A fire destroyed around 30 houses at the Maligaya Compound in Barangay Pilar, Las Piñas on Thursday, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection. The blaze started around 8:25 a.m. before reaching the second alarm. It took nearly four hours for firefighters to put it out as the flames spread quickly through the crowded compound. The cause of the fire, which was declared out at 1:06 p.m., remains under investigation. No injuries or deaths were reported. —RUSSEL LORETO
