20 rescued as boat sinks off Fuga Island in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Twenty persons were rescued on Wednesday , Nov. 23, after their boat’s engine malfunctioned while traveling near Fuga island in Sanchez Mira town, Cagayan, according to the Coast Guard Sub-Station Claveria.

The Coast Guard said the hull of motor boat MB LA78 was also damaged, causing it to sink eventually.

A responding rescue team brought all 11 passengers and nine boat crew to safety before it submerged.
