Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista announced on Monday the launch of cycling bike lanes along Elliptical Road and Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City (QC).

The project, with the support of the QC local government, which includes the construction of two-kilometer bike lanes, will be completed in the first quarter of 2024 and will benefit around three million people, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Monday.

“We want to emphasize the safety of cyclists. We want to ensure cycling is a safe mode of daily travel, no longer just for leisure,” Bautista said during the groundbreaking ceremony.
