MANILA, Philippines — Presidential adviser on creative communications Paul Soriano is on leave, according to Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil on Tuesday.

According to the PCO chief, Soriano is on leave due to personal matters.

The filmmaker-turned-presidential adviser did not specify what these matters were.

Garafil said that Soriano filed his leave a few days before President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s second State of the Nation Address (Sona) on July 24.

Soriano was meant to direct the Sona before Radio Television Malacañang took over last minute.
