President Bongbong Marcos has declared June 24 as a special non-working day in Manila to mark its 452nd founding anniversary.
The President signed Proclamation No. 261 on June 15.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” the proclamation read.
On June 24, 1976, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. reinstated Manila as the Philippine capital.
Mr. Marcos also declared a special, nonworking holiday in Tabuk City in Kalinga and Kapalong town in Davao del Norte to celebrate their founding anniversary and in Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur to mark its charter year.
