Boy drowns in resort swimming pool in Rizal
LUCENA CITY — A family outing turned tragic after a 5-year-old boy drowned on Thursday in a resort swimming pool in Rodriguez town in Rizal province.
A report on Friday, May 5, from the Region 4A police identified the fatality as Rafael Bedeo, a resident of Quezon City.
Investigators said Bedeo’s body was spotted around 2: 30 p.m. at the bottom of the swimming pool at a resort in Barangay San Jose.
Rescuers gave him emergency first aid and rushed him to the nearest hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Footage from a closed-circuit television camera in the area showed that the boy was playing beside the pool before he was found dead.
