Pagasa: TD Amang weakens into LPA

MANILA, Philippines — Erstwhile tropical depression (TD) Amang has since weakened to a low pressure area (LPA) Thursday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its latest advisory, Pagasa said the LPA was last spotted over the coastal waters of Polillo Islands, Quezon.

“At 8:00 AM today, TD Amang has weakened into a low pressure area. Final Tropical Cyclone Bulletin will be issued at 11:00 AM today,” said Pagasa in a Facebook post.

The LPA is still expected to bring moderate to at times heavy rain over Rizal and Quezon, said Pagasa.

“Under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible,” Pagasa warned.

State meteorologists have advised the public and concerned government agencies to prepare accordingly.
