Water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. announced a P1.7-million rebate for some of its customers who were severely flooded during the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” (international name: Nalgae). Maynilad said the affected customers will receive a rebate of about P50 which will be automatically deducted from their December 2022 water bill. Some 35,000 customers in parts of Muntinlupa and Pasay in Metro Manila; and Bacoor, Imus, Kawit and Noveleta in Cavite are entitled to this financial assistance. The amount, Maynilad said, shall cover the average cost of the 2-cubic-meter consumption of these customers. Maynilad implemented water service interruptions last month as the typhoon caused increased turbidity in the raw water from Angat and Ipo dams.
