Worker slain in Bacolod City

BACOLOD CITY––A maintenance worker was shot to death at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, at Purok 12-A in Las Altas, Barangay Alangilan in this city.
Rene Solidum Mateo, 44, suffered gunshot wounds on his head and different parts of his body, said Capt. John Christopher Masangkay, Police Station 5 officer-in-charge.

A still-unidentified man shot Mateo, who was on board a motorcycle, at the entrance of The Higher Ground.

Masangkay said they have yet to identify the killer and the motive behind the killing.
Recovered from the crime scene were a cartridge, a fired bullet, and a motorcycle owned by the victim, a police report showed.
