Expect light rain over parts of Luzon on Thursday – Pagasa

Light rain will prevail over Luzon on Thursday due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — Light rain will prevail over Luzon on Thursday due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Patuloy na makakapekto ang hanging amihan particular na sa Hilagang Luzon kaya asahan natin ang mga posibilidad ng pulo pulong mahihinang pag ulan partikular na dito sa may Cagayan Valley Region, Cordillera Administrative Region at Ilocos Region,” said Pagasa weather specialist Robert Badrina.

(The northeast monsoon will continue to affect Northern Luzon so we expect localized light shower particularly here in the Cagayan Valley Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region.)

Light isolated rain will also be experienced across the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon and Southern Luzon, according to Badrina.

Mindanao and Visayas, on the other hand, will have generally fair weather conditions with chances of rain caused by isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.

Temperature range in key cities/areas according to Pagasa for Thursday:

  • Metro Manila: 23 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 15 to 22 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  22 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 21 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 21 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius

Badrina also reported that no gale warning is currently raised in any of the country’s seaboards but moderate to rough sea conditions should still be expected across the country’s coasts.
