MANILA, Philippines — For the second consecutive year, the University of the Philippines (UP) will not be administering its annual college entrance examinations amid the resurgence of a coronavirus mutation.

The university councils across the university’s eight constituent units have voted “overwhelmingly in favor” of suspending UP’s college admissions test (Upcat) for the academic school year 2022-2023.

The councils are the highest policy-making body of each UP constituent university (CU) composed of the Chancellor, professors, associate professors and assistant professors of each CU.
